Roads & Attractions Map
Driving in Guatemala?
You need steel nervs, sharp eyes be able to read some Spanish and
a GOOD map with a co-pilot, ALWAYS drive on the defence and be aware the
Guatemalans have litle driving culture and a very little courtesy if you
do not ask for permition,
chiken buses are specially dangerous on the highways and they pass
and stops everywhere, curbs, double lines, down or up hills, you mention it, ANY
WHERE, my advise is do not drive your self if you are in vacations and
want to relax, parking too is always a problem, the bigger the car...the
bigger is the problem. Hire a minibus with a driver for about $150 per
day or take a shuttle.
